Terms
Last updated: 2026-06-24
These are the terms for using CodeAlong (the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to them. Questions: support@codealong.dev.
Your account
You must be at least 16 to use CodeAlong. Keep your login credentials safe — you're responsible for activity under your account. Tell us if something looks wrong.
Billing
Paid plans are sold and billed by Stripe, our Merchant of Record. Their terms and privacy policy govern the purchase itself. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled — you can cancel any time from your account, effective at the end of the current period.
EU/UK consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the initial purchase, unless you've started consuming digital content with your express consent (which waives the right). Outside that window, refunds are at our discretion.
How you can use it
You agree not to:
- Break the law or harm other users with what you do on CodeAlong.
- Run malicious code, scrape at scale, or try to bypass paywalls or rate limits.
- Share your account or resell access.
- Use the Service or its content to train competing ML models.
We can suspend accounts that abuse the Service.
Your code
You keep ownership of the code you submit. You give us a non-exclusive licence to host and process it as needed to run the Service — including sending it to our AI providers for feedback features (see Privacy).
AI feedback
Some challenges use AI (OpenAI, Anthropic) to give feedback. AI output can be wrong or misleading — treat it as a hint, not a verdict. We use providers on plans that do not train on your data.
Our content
Courses, lessons, brand, and the software itself belong to CodeAlong. You get a personal licence to use them for learning — no redistribution, no resale.
No warranties, limited liability
CodeAlong is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability is capped at what you paid us in the previous 12 months. We're not liable for indirect or consequential damages. Statutory consumer rights you have in your country aren't affected by this clause.
Ending things
You can stop using CodeAlong at any time. We can suspend or close accounts for serious breach of these terms. Sections that should logically survive (IP, disclaimers, liability) do.
Changes
We'll let you know about material changes by email or in-app at least 30 days before they take effect.
Law
These terms are governed by Portuguese law, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection rules in your country of residence.
